Concussions are mild traumatic brain injuries resulting in changes to our entire body. Vestibular management can involve treatment of vertigo and disorders of the vestibular system including dizziness, visual and coordination issues.

Meet Rachel

Rachel is our physiotherapist who has done extensive training in functional movement screening and exercise prescription, manual therapy, yoga teacher training and myofascial release. Rachel is also a registered pelvic health physiotherapist, with a special interest in treating pregnant and postpartum women and perinatal fitness.

She uses hands on treatment and exercise to help her patient achieve their goals and move well and often!

Rachel is passionate about women’s health and as a pelvic health physio, she has taken courses in pelvic pain, doula training, prenatal yoga, c-section management, pregnancy and postpartum athleticism and incontinence.

She is the mom to 2 wonderful boys and their puppy, Odin. When she’s not working you can find her at a local hot yoga class!

Meet David

Dr. David Blair attended York University where he graduated from the Kinesiology program and was the goalie for York’s varsity hockey team (go Lions!) He then attended New York Chiropractic College where he graduated with honours in 2015. Dr. David has completed further training in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture through McMaster University and certified through Shift CM™ in concussion and vestibular management.

As a lifelong athlete himself, Dr. David enjoys working with musculoskeletal injuries and sports injuries, providing comprehensive care including adjustments, myofascial therapy and exercise programming.

Dr. David also has a passion for working with pregnant and postpartum women (certified in Webster technique) and infant treatment for common issues including torticollis, painful latching, shoulder and hip dysplasia and gross motor skills.

When David isn’t working, he’s walking his dog Blue, playing with his daughter or (most likely) golfing.

Meet Aaron

Aaron works for a local children’s treatment centre and provides physiotherapy services to individuals across the lifespan, with a focus on infants and young children with developmental and functional concerns. Paediatric specific care includes the assessment and treatment of common developmental concerns including torticollis, plagiocephaly, delayed motor milestones (e.g. walking, crawling, sitting), cerebral palsy, hypotonia, gait abnormalities, and balance and coordination concerns. Paediatric assessment and follow-up can be completed either in-clinic or virtually.

Aaron completed his Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto and Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Ontario Tech University. Aaron believes in an active approach to rehabilitation and takes an individualized approach that is rooted in helping individuals meet functional goals that are important and meaningful to them.

When Aaron isn’t working, you can find him exercising and seeking new adventures both in and around Clarington and abroad. He enjoys travel, language learning, hiking and making the most out of the outdoors.

Emily is a Registered Massage Therapist with a client-focused approach, tailoring each treatment to meet individual needs. She studied massage therapy at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and the Ontario College of Health and Technology, equipping her with a strong foundation in therapeutic care. Always eager to expand her knowledge, she has also completed additional training in rib mobilization to enhance her treatments. Before becoming an RMT, Emily had a lifelong passion for movement and wellness. She grew up as a dancer and attended Centennial College’s Dance Performance program, where she now serves as Chair of the advisory committee. Her background in dance naturally led her to later earning certifications in barre fitness and pre/postnatal barre fitness. This unique movement-based perspective influences her approach to massage therapy, helping clients improve mobility and feel their best. Meet Nicole

Nicole obtained her Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy at Sir Sandford Fleming College and became Registered Massage Therapist 2014. Since then she has become a Certified Life Coach in 2020 and a full Reiki Master Practitioner by 2022 because she knows of the mind-body-soul connection; optimal healing does not happen without work in all three areas.

She finds the human body so fascinating; the things we are capable of, its ability to heal and grow, and what it is truly capable of. Massage Therapy was my calling, being able to help people feel better, fix and ease chronic pain, lower their stress and get them back to functioning is something she takes great pride in. Nicole also likes to use a number of modalities in her treatments to optimal results such as Cupping and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM).

She has a huge passion for women’s health and being a healthcare advocate for women. She has taken additional certifications for prenatal and postpartum care, infant massage and pelvic floor therapy. Ashley is a Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Pilates instructor and CSEP Certified Personal Trainer. With her degree from Western University in Clinical Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science and additional certifications, Ashley designs wellness programs that prioritize your individual needs and health goals.

As a Certified Pilates instructor her approach guides individuals through a holistic experience that fosters strength, flexibility, rehabilitation, and mindful movement. Drawing from an athletic background as a competitive swimmer, Ashley infuses practical experience into her programming, creating a dynamic and effective exercise experience for all her clients.

Ashley is an advocate for accessible exercise and her dedication to inclusivity ensures that the fitness environment encourages individuals from all fitness levels and backgrounds. Meet Danielle

Danielle Ufniak is the founder of Flow Physio + Wellness, and a registered physiotherapist with an interest in orthopaedic physiotherapy and pelvic health, with a special focus on perinatal health and fitness.

Danielle graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2014 and has become certified in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture through McMaster University, a certified Mat Pilates Instructor, certified in Perinatal Fitness Coaching and certified in birth doula support.

Danielle incorporates her education and exercise certifications into treatment and ultimately gives patients the tools to take control of their own health and create longevity in wellness and fitness. Her physiotherapy practice is centred around education, empowerment and confidence in navigating injury and the pregnancy and postpartum period of our lives.

When she’s not working, Danielle is spending time with her daughter and husband Dr. David (who is the chiropractor at Flow Physio + Wellness) and their dog, Blue. She co-founded Clarington Run Club and is a local lululemon ambassador, championing community fitness in Clarington especially with running!

Carly Buma is a Registered Kinesiologist and Certified Pilates Instructor. She graduated with distinction with a Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology in 2016. Since graduating from University, Carly obtained substantial experience in the realm of physical rehabilitation by working in multiple multidisciplinary clinics and working as an exercise therapist and trainer.

Carly holds a passion for fitness and staying active, which is why she loves helping clients achieve their fitness and wellness goals through safe and effective individualized programs. Carly’s desire for her clients is to help them cultivate a strong mind-body connection through thoughtful cues and communication in order for them to better understand their body’s strengths and weaknesses and to move with more precision and control. Recognizing that each individual comes to Pilates with their own set of unique challenges and goals, she seeks to provide a fun and supportive learning environment that fosters growth and motivation.

Carly understands the huge importance of keeping the body moving and does so by going for long walks with her family, working out at the gym, doing Pilates, and having the occasional dance party with her daughter. Kristen has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2015 and has been a certified Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Instructor since 2017. Her love of prenatal and postnatal care comes from her own prenatal and postpartum experience where she noticed a lack of support for moms.
